Tile Ridge Vent in Roseville
Ridge vent installation begins by carefully removing the tile ridge. The next step is to remove the first course of tiles and set them aside. The cut in the top of the ridge sheathing should be no more than 4" wide, total (cut the paper first at the same line where sheathing will be cut.). Once the ridge vent is cut open to expose the attic you are ready to install the ridge nailing board. Next a 2" x 2" nailing board is nailed to the center of the ridge, which in this case was the original. After replacing the courses of tile on either side and cleaning off any dirt or dust, you can then roll out the Ridge Vent made by Boral which comes in 20' lengths. The Ridge Vent can be cut at whatever lengths necessary. Nailing and caulking the ridge is the final step to make the roof water tight and the attic well ventilated, in this case over nine square feet more exhaust venting (22" of venting per 1 lineal foot).
